Here is a good example of the OEM set I'm looking for.
They won't be easy to find, but they'll turn up on EBay sooner or later!

That set in your picture looks like it was manufactured in the last couple of years, I want the OEM one which would have been produced 15 to 20 years ago. They are probably both Thule products, and likely the same exact mechanical design though. The OEM one also appears to only come in black, which to me looks better. I just personally would prefer not to put such a new looking design on a car of such vintage. I know its knitpicky but thats how I am about my cars, can't help it.

You can post a picture of it if you like, but I'm 99% sure what you have is a new version of an old OEM design. Thule holds the patents on these things, they probably just licensed it to MB for the run of the model line and a few years after for replacements. When the license is finished, Thule takes the MB logos off and puts theirs back on and puts them back on the shelves and sells them cheaper. If yours was an older OEM version from MB, it wouldn't have the modern brush silver crossbars and those nice plastic end caps.

Post a pic of the unistalled one so I can have a look. If it is, maybe I'll take it. There aren't any MB or 124 markings on the end caps, right?
