Vibration WOWS

Can anybody suggest why I get this thumping vibration when I accelerate at speed...especially with a load in the back. It's a 94 E320. Nothing from a standing start....more likely to happen when increasing speed to pass. I've changed or inspected all the usual culprits, flex disc, centre bearing, engine mounts, diff mounts.... even changed the front bushings in the drive axle subframe. (that got rid of a klunk that came and went) the vibration is still there, though. I really don't want to start replacing parts ***** nilly and I hope somebody has been through this or based on the symptoms can say "it has to be the _____". Any MB techs on this forum?
Brian

I heard of a similar thumping problem in a '00 Jetta. Turned out to be the front sway bar bushings. Have a look at yours and see if they're detiorated or completely gone.
