Weight differences between models and years

Does anyone know the weight differences between early and late 300E's? How about between Coupes, wagons, and 4 doors?

Coupe models are heavier than sedans (approx 200-400 lbs), due to increased structural reinforcements to offset the loss of the b-pillar. Convertibles heavier still -- more reinforcement, motors, etc.

Wagons presumably heavier than sedans, with longer roofline, more glass, etc.

For example, using data from a 1998 W210 E-class:
- E320 sedan 3460 lb
- E320 wagon 3670 lb

W124 coupe is approx 3800 lbs

There are some good sources for this information, some of which are: www.edmunds.com, www.intellichoice.com, www.cars.com. The best resouce by far is Rober Nitske's book of Mercedes Production Models, it has data dating back to the early part of last century.

Interestingly, the Coupe seems to weigh the least (even though it has added rigidity to compensate for the absence of the B-pillar). Here are some numbers for the 1990 3.0L 124:

Model Curb weight (lbs)
----------------------------------------
300CE 3505
300E 3515
300TE 3565
300E 4MATIC 3615

As for the 1993 E320 Cab: 4025lbs!

There seems to be some descrepancies: I found this article that Lee Scheeler wrote: Curb weight ran from 3195lbs for the early 300E to 3525lbs for the later E320.

Well, that sounds about right, if you consider that the 1991 E would be in the middle -- more trim and fitments due to the design freshening in 1990MY. And the later model would have weighed a little more due to the twincam head or ASR or ADS or whatever. The early models did not have many of these luxuries, some even had 5 speed manuals (sigh) in them... So that data sounds correct too, no?
