94 E320 Idle Problems
Hey! I've had my 94 E320 for almost three years now with a little over 200k on it and the past two to three months it has been in and out of the shop constantly. It started with a coolant leak, rough idling, and stalling when idled. The stalling was determined to be caused by a clogged EGR valve and that hasn't been a problem since.
While the stalling stopped and the coolant leak was fixed, the idle is still rough. While I'm sitting at red lights, the RPMs will go up and down erratically and whenever they fall below 1000, there seems to be a groaning sound issuing from the engine.
I also recently had the intake gasket replaced due to a leak and I read a few places that it may be a bad hose connecting to the air filter that could be causing the rough idle. I'm wondering since the gasket was bad that the hose may be as well?
Sorry, I have very minimal experience with this but I'm really tired of having to take my car to the shop every week.
Any opinions would help!
