Exclamation taking water!!!???

the passengers side floor of my 1994 E320 is wet. The problem seems to be focused on the outerside(right) near the door cill. The floor mat is soaked and the carpet as well including the foam attachment. This problem was there a few weeks ago and i thought it was due to a water spill or something but now i realize it is something more. does anyone have any idea why or where water can penetrate in that space, and it seems to be confined to that space alone?? thanks for any help

Check to see if the rubber pads used for floor jacks are in place. The pads on my car were missing years ago, and the rear floor was always wet.

There are 4 of them, 2 on each side of the car, right beneath the doors. They are contact points for floor jacks that are used to raise the car when working on it (like the changing the tires).

I'll post a pic tomorrow morning. The water doesn't come in thru the door sill. It goes into the structure of the car and through the floor.

As far as posting pics goes, has anyone else noticed that there is a 1K limit?! I was going to post a pic of a starter and it would not let me, stating that my 37K GIF file was larger than the 1K limit. I know this is something new, perhaps since the crash a while back...

I host pix on my personal webspace for my eBay auctions and a few of my threads on the forum. I'll just use that when I take the pic tomorrow.

Have you also checked the drain hoses of the A/C are properly attached? You'll find them behind the carpet on the each side of the center "gear tunnel". They divert condesate from the A/C system to the outside of the car.
