Do you use Mercedes Fluids?
If not, what coolant, engine oil, and transmission oil do you use? I'm using Mobil 1 synthetic and Redline in my '87.

Engine oil: not fussy, any SJ approved oil.
Coolant: Zerex G 05, same as MB brand but cheaper
PS fluid: ps fluid, not Dexron, ps fluid is easier on the system
Trans fluid: Dexron III, as specified
Brake fluid: DOT 4, as specified
Rear axle: Any synthetic 80W, for decreased fuel consumption

MBWorld Fanatic!
I have two W124/260E, both well over 190kmls. Never used any fluid from MB. No problems ever. The only thing is to buy fluids which meet the specs. No matter where you can get the best deals. The only good I do my cars is change oil approx. at half of the recommended interval time.

Jsolano, you're gonna get flamed on the use of Prestone coolant. I assume you use the green stuff. It's a no-no on MB engines. For long and healthy life of cooling system components, you should be using either the dealer coolant or Zerex G-05.
