Help with a broken hood hinge..
I bought a used '89 300CE from a friend that, with some time, has gone from having multiple little issues to being pretty solid.
The car suffered some mild hit in front in its life - not noticeable unless you really look. But the hood didn't latch closed when I bought it. I put a new hood on it and adjusted the strike plate and it would close, but the edge closest to the windshield always sat too high, and beyond the range of adjustment of the bolts.
So when the passenger side hinge broke yesterday I wasn't happy, but it made sense - the front arm pulled out of the slot, it won't go back in, and with only the one driver side hinge working the hood is WAY off center, so the car isn't drivable with the hood hanging sideways.
Enough of the story, the two main questions are;
1) Who has replaced a hinge on these?
2) Once I take off the fender, how hard is it to remove the hinge assembly?
Thanks in advance..

Out Of Control!!
The only trick is making sure that the spring holding bracket is pointing horizontal forward when the hood is closed!!
The alignment process is a bit tedious however if you have access to the WIS docs all will be clear!!
