03 E55 AMG
New member
Hi all. I was previously a member on the W203 C32 AMG forum and more recently the W211 E55 AMG forum, but have just bought the car of my teenage dreams - my 'new' 1988 W124 300E AMG. I had it shipped up to me yesterday after a 3 month nationwide search. Before the purists start yelling that it is not a proper AMG - let me agree. This is a pre-merger AMG with a stock 3 litre straight six, full AMG bodykit, headers, exhaust, suspension and 16" monoblock wheels. It is also the only one I have ever seen with the white AMG gauge cluster. I am not sure if it has the reworked 3.2L engine, but I doubt it.
I plan on restoring the interior back to its former glory as it is looking very tired at the moment. She is straight and accident free and has been in 1 family her whole life, however the original owner also gave her the cheapest, crapest respray ever, but a new coat will cost megabucks so that is off the cards for now. For now, I will be fighting with the fuel distributor as I bought it as a non-runner, but it was love at first sight with this car and I am absolutely ecstatic.
Please feel free to add your cents worth as I turn my own spanners and have been through the spark, fuel pump, pump relay, etc, but the motor keeps flooding and when a spark plug is removed it shoots gas out the hole?
Typical redhead - fiery temperament as hell!
