Air Mass Meter

hi Guys
I own a E320 convertible 1995, i have a sport cone K&N airfilter instead of the original one supplied by mercedes. One day i decided to give the engine a steam wash with car on and accidentally some water on to the airfilter which it sucked in. After that day the car has never started properly and tends to judder when stopped in DRIVE.

Can you help me please ? Any suggestions?
Do you think the air mass meter needs replacing? where is the best place to get one?

It is possible that air is still entrained in the throttle body/intake. If the air mass meter is infact shot, try www.thepartsbin.com.

One characteristic about water that gets into the combustion chamber is that it does not compress and can actually bend valves. Hopefully it was a minute amount.

I heard that the MAF sensor is very touchy and doesn't like anything but air to touch it.
