Trans on a 86 300e

I live in New Jersey USA and I was just qouted $900.00 to have a trans resealed cause their is a major leak on the front of the trans between the motor and the trans does this sound correct

1994 E320
I would not be surprised. The transmission is bolted to the engine and attached to the propeller shaft. It's a big task to replace those seals.
