just make sure you have little gas in the tank, you do the job in a well ventillated area and you depressurise the system before starting.

Also make sure you have a few hose clamps ready to stop the fuel pissing out of the hoses all over you. Whatever you do, expect some gas spillage (mostly over you) so dont have any chain smoking helpers around.

Changed the fuel pump, piece of cake. On the monday the car stopped ....... not a sound from the fuel pump.........got another one, changed again, still nothing. Finally traced the fault to the fuel pump regulator.........£78 wtf.

(fuel pump only cost £10)

Is really the fuel pump that inexpensive?

Ive got to replace one of the two fuel pumps on my 300E soon, one is rusted and leaks.

What should I expect to pay at the shop?

Thank you very much

W124's
wow this thread is old.

Anyways, I don't know how the fuel pump he got was so cheaped.

I recently changed BOTH of my fuel pumps along with the Filter - even with getting hooked up on the parts I still paid roughly $200 for each pump.
