W124 CANbus?

I am the proud new owner of a 1995 E320 Wagon Always wanted one.

Smooth ride @ 327.xxx miles, newly replaced wire harness, new front bumper (not yet installed) trans slipping a little but nothing that I cannot handle especially for $350.00. See pics.

I do have an engine and few transmissions laying around (including a 722.6), just have to make time to swap it out.

Which lead me to ask a question.

I know that the 722.6 transmission require CANbus for the TCU. Twisted green and white wires, I noticed that the ECU in the W124 has these wires.

So I visited a local junkyard earlier today and got curious and raided a W210 12/95 model; and it carried what seemed to be the same pinout arrangement as the W124 ECU.

The question is, do they W124 broadcast CAN and if so, is it usable for the 722.6 TCU and or, might these ECU's be interchangeable?

I have read that its a drop in installation since the TCU does all the shifting...and can even be tuned. You can also add paddle shifting. There is a company that sells the electronics for retrofits.

Yes it is a drop in, I was able to get the transmission with the shifter, harness and TCU to install together. but in order for the TCU to operate it needs ECU signal (i think). That's where my post came in, just checking on other possible options.

If all fails I'll simply Megasquirt the thing because it would broadcast CAN signals I'm looking for.
