? removing center wood console?

I figure that you have the open cubby hole in your console (under the armrest). First take off the ashtray (screws and all) then go to the other end of wood and there should bee two screws at the bottom of the wood very near the carpet. Take the screws out, along with the shift gate suround. Then pull the whole thing up from the back end, the whole piece should lift out still having the switches attached.
