722.369 transmission question

1995 E320 102'K well maintained sedan transmission problem - R drive not working. Expert said this is a common problem with this model/transmission combination. lamellen break 3 wear. My question might this wear caused the low supply pressure, pump failure ? I am asking this, because I had kind of indication about this: in idle no torque, low torque, the vehicle slide back in the hill......

please help

It's hard to say. Every part wears at a different rate, but it's not uncommon for it to roll back on hills. The vacuum modulator might have some effect on this too, try giving it half a turn, see how it reacts.

The reverse clutches wearing out is a sign that it's time to refresh it. Those are commonly the first to go. The rest of the clutches are going to show some wear but they'll also have plenty of life left in them too. As things wear out, the actuators have a longer distance to travel, meaning that it's not as crisp as it should be.

The pump is a simple and serviceable part. When it's apart, you can see how worn it is and judge if it needs replacement. It's likely that it only needs seals. I would check the shavings in the pan first for shinny flakes.

I would think the fluid is at the right level .have you checked it as per hand book .Before playing with other parts . And when last did it have a ATF fluid change ..
