HELP / BUYING ADVICE PLEASE - 1995 E320, 162K miles
What are your thoughts about this car? I have not looked at it in person just yet, but the pics look pretty promising.
I love the Color Combo and the wheels, but would like your expert opinions on this please:

Buying these cars is all about maintenance history, or lack of.
Do a carfax, and ask to have a PPI done by a qualified Mercedes indy or dealer. It will be the best $200 you ever spent, and if the seller won't let you do that, a big red flag goes up.
This is a great looking car, love the colors and it appears to be in great shape in pictures anyway. I ran the Mercedes Data card for this car, and I'm attaching it to this post. The wheels alone in good shape are worth about $1000 or so, but they may be too big, look for rubbing issues up front especially. I think the 1/6 Carlsson wheels are on the gaudy side, and they appear to be 18's, a set of 17's would fit better, but 17's are very rare. I would sell the wheels on eBay, and put my style wheels on it instead.
The quality of the materials and workmanship on these cars can seduce you to buying a maintenance nightmare. The interiors are so robust, they can look great for many years, even if the mechanics have been ignored.
Don't get sucked into buying the first pretty thing that comes along, there are a lot of them out there, and the greatest fun can be in the hunt for the right one.
Always remember...Caveat Emptor
Good luck...
