90 300e and B5 S4
93 300e won't even crank
The car is a 93 300e benz. The car was running fine but I was trying to chase down a electrical problem with the reverse lights not coming on and now the car wont start. I can hear the pump turn on, everything else happens just like its suppose to but when you go to the key position to start nothing happens(engine doesnt turn over). All fuses were checked and are fine. The car started just fine the other day so i dont think its the starter and yes the battery has 12.45 volts reading.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried to jiggle with the transmission shifter or tried to start the engine with the transmission in neutral? Could be a defective neutral switch.
Good clean contacts at the battery posts?
Good ground with the negative battery wire?

Well I figured it out. I went back to check the neutral safety switch and it popped out of the shifter rod. This time I went back and pushed it in more and tightened it down better. Guess it wasn't all the way in before.
