What do you mean dash lights or do you mean instrument cluster lights?

If it's like my 300CE there is both a fuse on the back of the cluster, and a rheostat that dims all the instrument lights... My rheostat was bad but I replaced the fuse while I had it out. SIMPLE easy job on mine. Fuse isn't like a normal fuse either, special part.

I just picked up a '93 400E and none of my dash/instrument cluster lights work. Where is this fuse located that I can check first?

buy the little tool to pull the cluster out (little L-shaped wire tool that latches to the assembly so you can pull on it) and behind the gauge cluster, there is a separate fuse... or you may have the "dimmer" rheostat that went south. (do both while you have it apart) I changed both myself... took about an hour. Not hard, just take your time as you slide the gauge cluster out and then squeeze your hand behind the assembly to remove the speedo cable.

I ended up getting these cluster removal tools from mercessource and they worked quite well: https://mercedessource.com/store/r10...-removal-tools
I ordered a new rheostat and that fuse that's behind the cluster but the online parts store said the fuse is NLA (maybe just from them) but luckily I didn't need it. I replaced just the rheostat and all my dash and periphery lights work now! I also found out after looking for the speedo cable that my '93 400E is drive by wire and I don't have a speedo cable.....
