Fan above Mirror : Cabriolet
Looking for info for the area above the rear view mirror. Can't find anything online on how to clean or replace. It has a molded cover with slots in it. Behind it is dime size hole. Recently there's a noise like a fan needing to be lubricated or tightened - rattling. Stops after awile then again when restarted.

Found it's the interior temperature sensor; on a newer Mercedes a video was created showing one disassembled - they get "gunked up" over time; replacing is easy once you get to the small device or simply clean it. Going to leave it alone for now - comes and goes.

Yes i come across it now .My volvo had one in .When your car is hot inside ,after you switch off the part above your head in the mirror base that holds this sensor and motor that tells the small fan in foot well to switch on and bring the temp down after switching off .
