E200 manual with 2.2 engine
W124 manuel transmission cpu
get an E220 auto engine in a 1994 E200 manual, all is good except fuel cut off at around 4000 rpm in 1st gear, 2nd, 3rd... is fine going straight to redline... how to solve this limitation? Thank you.

The 4k rpm limitation is hard coded into the PEC engine control unit. According to the function description this limit is only operational up to 10 kph on the manual transmission coded unit. You can find this out if you drive in 1st gear above 10kph and then floor it, should now go to 6200 max. I'm not sure how to remove this driveline protection feature in the ecu. Have you tried to remove the resistor cap from the ecu and see if there is difference? Be careful as this can change internal map of ecu program and engine might be damaged if you not careful experiment...
