Fuse and lights issue

Fuse and air blower issue 300e 86
MB300e 1986 the blower was working fine yesterday I went to the fues box to see if something was blown when I get their I see fuse #12 melted I pull it out and replace it
it seems this was for the air blower now I dont have any air blowing
Question 1. is the fues box socket #12 destroyed now due to the fact that a fuse melted even thoug I can see the gold opening inside

1990 300E
Just had a similar problem with my 1990 E300. The fuse for the aux fan melted into the fuse holder. I modified the wiring with a Japanese style fuse holder and fuse with I located outside of the fuse box. To repair it would require replacing the fuse holder assembly with a new one which would require removing several wires from the old and connect them to the new.
