'93 300TE Wheel Fitment Issues / Options with Silver Arrows Brakes!?
Good Day! First post (been lurking for a while and really appreciate all of the great information out there.)
I'm having some challenges with our 1993 300TE (3.2) Estate. The wagon is SO close - we've done the 722.6 5-speed tranny swap and will be running a custom transmission controller. We've eliminated the SLS and installed H&R springs. We have the shock thing figured out (1970 Dodge Challenger front shocks for the rear of the Wagon with non SLS lower control arms and 300E sway-end links. We also got lucky and found a set of larger Eibach front and rear anti-roll bars.)
Last issue to chase down - WHEELS!
Invested a bundle in the bloody Alzor 803 wheels from ECS and they didn't fit! Bought brand new tires - mounted them ahead of time and everything! I bought 17x8" with 225s for the front and 17x9" with 255s for the rears - both in a 30ET but they hit the Silver Arrows SL500 brake calipers on the inside of the wheel face - on the back - and the wheels stick out about an inch too much on the front and probably 2 inches too much at the rear! Totally lost here. A buddy brought over his E500 and we tried his wheels with similar results.
What rims from the OE bin would be a good fit given the setup? Anybody else running the Silver Arrows SL500 brakes? At this stage I just need a wheel that will fit to get rolling again - and to get a fitment baseline.
Any suggestions?

Google "Alzor 803" and find the pic of a grey w124 coupe.. The wheels even with stock calipers are not plug 'n play..
"I wanted new shoes for the coupe so I ordered in a staggered set of Alzor 803 wheels from ECS Tuning back in April and after a lengthy wait they came in today. The fronts are 8" and the rears are 9", with a 2" and 3" polished lip. The website list them as fitting the car but I had a bit of interference with the caliper on the front. We had a 10mm hub centric spacers that I used to get clearance but I plan to get a 5mm spacer in to try as the wheels are a bit further outboard than I'd like. That said , I love the look."
Though the SL500 w129 calipers may bolt onto the w124 caliper brackets they were not engineered for the w124.
'questions? 1. What are you attempting to do/what do you want out of your TE (Daily driver?, Track car?, ????) and 2. Why did you choose to fit w129 calipers to your 300TE? I own a '95 300TE and have never experienced any braking problems.
I also own a 300CE (check out my posts)
Thanks for the info on eliminating the SLS on your TE.
