Intermittent crazy idle

95 e320 wagon
So about a week ago i pulled into the gas station and the car idled crazy . . . . rev up / rev down / rev up / rev down - almost violently. I restarted and it went away.

then a week later my wife was driving the car and lost power - she would slam on the gas and get really delayed acceleration - nothing would happen at first.

when it did go it was fine, but then when she let off the gas it did the violent idle again - surgy.

any thoughts of where to start? are you thinking fuel or ignition?

thanks,
dave

Nope thinking throttle actuator----that issue is not a DIY make sure you find an ole MB engine pro or you will get the Bens Wurld shuffle, that is you will get talked to death without a solution!

I just so happen to have one post '98 that I have pulled out of car in a junkyard . . . . .

i really hope it is that - easy fix.

I was worried it was the fuel pump or the Fuel pressur regulator thingy that's near the thermostat.

The fp regulator can be checked by the pipe thats exiting it . See if its got petrol inside the small pipe if so it shot .
