Smile Ball joint problem

Hi,
Haven't been in the forum for a while. I bought a 1995 w124 e300 diesel a year ago. Car only has 2 owners and the original owner was from CT. I guess he went down to SC and traded the car in and the car was in an auction down there. A guy from the NYC area bought it and the car was back in the Northeast Anyway, last week the weather got warmer and we were in the 50's. My side lawn was soak in water and I back the car into the mud. When I shift forward and try to turn right, I heard an crack and the steering start making noise. I got the car out and the right side start making noises like crackling and squeaking sound as I drove down the road. The dreaded ball joint must have busted. The car is almost 23 years old, the ball joint and rubber bushings must have dry rotted. I was googling information on the ball joint for the 95 model and read that the front ball joints on the w124 for 1994-1995 were welded shut. Is this correct? I want to confirm with the experts on this forum that the stock ball joints in the front were welded shut on the 95. I don't mind changing the lower control arm as I need to change the bushings out anyways and it is cheaper to just buy the lower control arm to put it in.

I just want to confirm with you guys that the 95 w124 front stock ball joints were welded with the control arm hence will have to buy a new control arm to fix the problem. Thank you in advance for the information.

The ball joints on a 95 E300 bolt on, and can be replaced without replaced the entire control arm. Had my BJs replaced last year.
