300TE with gauge cluster that has ASR
Just bought a '93 300TE wagon and I'm trying to figure out if the gauge cluster (and odometer) are original to the car. The dash on my car has an ASR light, but I don't believe was an option on the 300TE. Can anyone confirm if the gauge cluster for a '93 300TE does or doesn't have an ASR light?

Out Of Control!!
Well I am as confused as you. The car is special in that it was assembled in Germany hen knocked down and sent to Vietnam where it was reassembled. When you look at the data card it does not show the ABS and ASR options, however when you go in to the parts, both control modules are called out. That's the confusing part. I suggest you look under the hood, if you see nine lines going into the booster and have a cylindrical accumulator then you have ASR. You can also look in the control module box for part number 013 545 86 32--the ASR control module
The engine is a 104.992 and the transmission is a 722.369

Hmmmm. The Carfax shows the car being sold new in FL in 1993 and I haven't seen anything on the car that would indicate it wasn't a US market car. And it has ABS.

If the confusion in the factory documentation concerns you, I would ask for clarification from MB USA.
If some sap simply uses an open source VIN search, they won't find the confusion, however if a smarter sap goes to any dealer or uses WIS\EPC for a vehicle data card, I suspect the person will be asking some questions.
