Trade my 95 E420 for a 93 300CE?

What do you guys think?
I love the 95 for its sound system mainly - the exterior changes don't bother me.
The E420's V8 is really nice too. Great sound, smooth, torquey, even sings nicely at high rpms.. unlike the newer 3-valve 4.3 V8
but... I like the coupe body quite a bit more, the pillarless design is sweet too, so is the more personal back seat area. The M104 motor doesn't lack smoothness either... just the soundtrack![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
The particular CE is midnight blue with saddle interior. So color wise it's almost like mine. It has 110k mi.
I'm thinking since my E420 should be worth more I could probably get the dealer to throw in a CD changer (if needed), 17" Evo wheels, and maybe Euro headlights for a fair trade?
Should I just forget about it and get an older CE for much less and keep the V8?
here's the E420 - 89k mi.

If it was me I would keep the current car.
The main reason for me though, is the facelift and the V8, which doesn't make much difference to you.
Another reason is the reliability, a '95 will have every possible flaw worked out of it and won't have unique problems that the coupe has.

Have you considered the 500E?
You would then have the soundtrack AND the coupe style rear seats.
I guess it depends how much you really love the coupe shape.

Just put in the 2 person rear seating in your 95' if you dig it, bolts right in...how often you gonna sit back there anyway?
You'll probably be on the losing end if you trade it in at a dealer also.
And you'll probaby miss the V8 if you get rid of it...I know I would...just my 2 cents.

At a used car dealer, I looked at a 1999 540i (good car in 5/10 condition), 1998 E36 M3 (really good condition.. but.. not my type of car), 1995 SL500 (bad condition)
Went to look at the 300CE and by luck (faith maybe?) the car wasn't there. Walked around the dealer's service area......
a gleaming perfect silver 1994 E500
with Black interior... and... 17" Polished Evo wheels. My friend and I agreed that the only car worth replacing the 420 with would be an E500 like that (he drives an E46 M3)....
so off I went and as a gift to the 420 I had its windows tinted (black car gets pretty warm in summer and 124's ac isn't quite Lexus-like)

The original engines that were put in had cylinder sleeves that didn't last to long on our gas.

Most engines have been replaces under warranty so just be sure if you do look.
