Interior Rearview Mirror on A124 - part ?
I have a 1994 E320 Cabrio. While I live in Michigan, the car spent most of its life in California (where I bought it 10 years ago). The car runs great but many of the interior plastics around the top of the windshield have cracked from that California heat. In particular, the plastic shell that surrounded the inside rearview mirror essentially disintegrated and fell off in about 4 pieces. I seem unable to find a new shell. The mirror itself is still there and it works... it just looks terrible. My car has the light tan interior (emerald green exterior, fwiw). When I find replacements on eBay for similar year sedans they look very different than mine. Mine had a rounded back and the ones I see online look flat. Anyway, can anyone confirm if a sedan mirror is interchangeable with the mirror from the cabriolet and perhaps the coupe? I don't care if the shape is different, I'd just like to have a plastic shell around it. If anyone has an idea where to find a correct replacement, I'd love some guidance.

Here are a couple of pictures, front and back of the mirror.
i have the pieces of the old shell at home and will try to get some pictures later.
Back if mirror. Missing the shell.

I have been told that the R129 mirror will fit the W124 cabrio although some of the R129 mirrors have extra things like Homelink that won't be functional on the W124. Last time I checked the W124 mirror was available in black from the dealer. The mirror can be painted to match your parchment interior using supplies from http://www.worlduph.com/ (color code 766 parchment). My mirror is in tough shape as well and I plan to go that route.

Just a little follow up from my previous post - I checked my stored notes and found that the part number for the original tan mirror is 129 810 00 17 8F30. The black replacement mirror is 129 810 00 17 9051. Note the R129 chassis designation.
