1990 300ce to M104 3,2 swap
Hey, im buying 1990 model Benz 300ce (M104) and the guy who is selling it started a engine swap because original engine was leaking oil everywhere and it was burning oil also. He had two guys do it for him and the engine is from a s320 w140 I think. (I will post the block casting number). I don’t understand the rest. He says they removed both engine and transmission and installed the 3.2 engine with the transmission from the donor car and all it needs is engine harness and Ecu for the engine and transmission and also the old shifter cable did not work on the new transmission. How difficult would you think it would be to finish this job? I have made several engine swaps but not for a different engine and also I know the bmw so much better than Benz as I have newer worked on them.

I bought the car and tomorrow I am picking up wiring harness and ecu from m104 3.2 from musso. Ain’t I right about that it should fit? Or are any other types of 3.2 m104 than the .992?

What year S320 did your new motor come out of?
1990, you can't just put in any old 3.2l in there. 1993, the new HFM fuel injection system is not compatible w/the older CIS injection/ecu/etc.

And after talking to the dealer (I let them have the engine number and then they were able to tell me this vin number I was posting.) after talking to them we have found out that this is the ecu it needs A0135451532 And this is the engine harness A1244405232.

I know that this can be done. I know a man who put 104.992 into a G 280 with the m104 ecu and harness. I took the engine number and it comes from a w124 320e and bought a engine harness and ecu for that car. I have connected the transmission and installed the new ecu and upper engine harness. But now i want to know the ecu needs two harnesses. 124 440 5232 is the connector on the ecu i have installed but i will have to buy the other one (which connects the ecu to the car.) the harness i will be needing is 124 440 4405 or 124 440 4905 but the dealer does not aell them anymore. I have managed to find 124 440 6905 and was wondering if it could work? And how hard is it to install this harness?

I got the car running but the idle was bad so i rewired the eta and niw it idles fine. Now i want to make it manual, i bought a 5 speed gearbox and i think i have everything but driveshaft. Im also wondering how the car will start after manual swap. How can i make the car think its in neutral or park?
