self level on e wagon 1995

Not sure about an E320 but on my 230TE the fluid resovoir is on the right front of the engine compartment and the pump is on the front of the camshaft.
The control unit is located in front of the differential ( which needs replced on mine)
When a load is placed on the car the level control unit senses this ( it is connected by mechanical levers to the rear springs ), the pump then reacts and pumps fluid to the spheres which brings the car back up to level.
