3d Printed: w124 Air Intake Scoop to Filter Housing OE# 103 090 03 82
I noticed that the air intake piece had fallen off my car, and gotten destroyed by the belts. When I started searching, I could not find this part anywhere in stock. I called up my local MB dealer, and they said this part is totally discontinued and they would not be able to get it anywhere.
So I modeled this part off of the existing part that was destroyed so that I could 3d print a new one. The challenging aspect of this was the flexible ribbed section. So I broke this singular piece down into 3 parts. The black parts, beginning and end, are ABS. The center blue part, (sorry I only had blue), is TPU 95A, (thermoplastic polyurethane). Its a flexible filament that is really great for an application like this. The 3 pieces snap together. I haven't road tested it yet, so I can't speak to the durability but it's a pretty snug fit.
I uploaded the files here so that if someone else needs the part they can just print one themselves. (or use a online service to print one).
