Question In dash warning lights 1995 E300 Diesel

My warning indicators vary in intensity, leading me to believe that there are at least two lamps per warning indicator (some of which are burnt-out). I have read previous postings regarding dirty prisms affecting the intensity of the light transmitted to the in dash warning indicators and I do not believe that is the issue I'm dealing with. I presume that warning indicators would be of a relatively uniform intensity if the issue was solely attributable to dirty prisms.

Question 1: Are the in dash warning indicators lit by more than one lamp?

Question 2: How difficult is it for a mechanically inclined novice to replace burnt-out lamps?

Question 3: How much should it cost to have a MBZ mechanic replace the lamps?
