1990 300e engine upgrades?

hey everyone, i just picked up a super clean eurospec 300e, now, as great as the car is, its stupid slow. does anyone know if the c36 swap is a option on this year or only 1994+, or is it better to look into adding a turbo?
thanks,
deven

Agree with Plutoe. It is an almost 30 years' old car, and if everything is original or near original it is a classic car. If yours is a 1990 car, it is probably fitted with an M103 engine, maximum output is about 170HP. By modern car standards, upgrading a 30-year old would not make much impact. The best bang for the money would be to replace the differential with one of a higher ratio e.g. 3.46 so the car pulls more willingly, but the downside is that you burn more fuel, the speedo reading will be inaccurate, and the car will be unable to reach maximum speed. If you want the car to feel more aggressive, you can replace the factory exhaust with performance exhaust. There are a few offers from Germany for the M103 engine on eBay.

That sounds good regarding exhaust mods! Do you have links or anything by any chance?

Try this link to the eBay listing for a set of stainless steel performance exhaust manifolds for the M103 engine.

If you want a faster 124 E class, without paying 500E prices, just buy either a 400E or a E420.
They are readily available on the used car market and one of the best 124's ever built, buy a good one and you wouldn't be sorry...
