W124 96 E250D 83kw Harness issue

Hi, i have the dreaded biodegradable wiring harness issue, i want more info on what will fit it so i could enjoy my w124, i understand it has the OM605.911 engine, what MB could i scrap the harness from, would MB E250 W210 2.5 83 kW suffice or will i be able to scrap it from a W202 c250 83kw or will i be on a quest to find a same w124?

Thank you!

Have you attempted to purchase a new harness, that would be preferable. If not available or too expensive, 2 options, find another exact model with a build date code after 1996, or find a specialist that rebuilds harnesses. There are several businesses that do this. They can take your old harness, remove the connectors, and attach them to a new wire set they build from scratch. I don't know where you are at, but I bet there is someone not that far away that could do this. Not sure about the diesels, but all the gas cars had 3 harnesses to replace/rebuild. Upper engine harness, lower engine harness, and ETA harness.

There should be a diesel expert to add to this thread, what exactly is there. good luck
