Poor fuel consumption on 230E
All of a sudden I started getting very poor fuel consumption. I’m now getting around 17-19l/100km. I used to get around 11-14. I replaced the breather hoses as they were all cracked and I changed the air filter as it wasn’t changed in the past year. Still after that there’s no improvement.
The issues with my car currently is that the timing seems to be retarded too much and I get quite bad pinging at times. I also think the fuel mixture is not correct as it was once adjusted as it was mistaken for an idle adjustment. Could these cause such a drop in fuel economy? And how could I correctly sort this out because my car doesn’t have an O2 sensor?
