Hi Guys, I bought a 1987 230e manual with 456000km last year august, about a month ago the car started making a bad noise and apon investigation i found that the camshaft was destroyed especialy the intake lobe on cyl4 and after getting parts prices i have decided not to fix the engine, i also have a w126 420se that has been off the road for a couple of years and now i'm thinking"of swopping in the 4.2 v8 with its automatic gearbox and maybe diff, is there maybe anyone with any ideas of what issues i will run into with this swop ?

I guess it a matter of how capable you are. It will definitely need a ''bit'' of custom parts. there are other engine swaps that are easier but nothing is ever a bolt in
