Newbie issues with 260E...

I have had a 89 260E since I grad'ed from high school (bought it new in 1989)...it's got about 203K miles and is just now strting to show age...

Issues:

1. Hesitant take off - on take it drops to a very low RPM then jumps up and goes - I searched on hesitant take and RPM's on this forum to no avail

2. Tranny is starting to slip a bit when cold (take from 1st - 2nd and then whines pretty high RPM's into 3-4th) may be a fluid issue but no leaks are detected on the driveway - may be during driving? Does not have the problem when its driven for a bit

3. rattling when hitting bumps and the steering moves with the rattles - bushings - sway bar - control arm ball joints?

4. Radio is a POS now and I need a replacement - its o.e. and only one speaker works

5. Windshield washer fluid resiviour leaks all fluid out - around the pump motors - maybe just bad pvc tubing they are pretty stiff from age

6. Antenna broken - need a boot and replacement power antenna

7. The AC vent - sticks on Defrost on the center vents - the side bloq cold air but the center is stuck on defrost? Odd?

Also, know of any distributors or forum sponsors I can throw some business thier way on replacement parts?

Any help with these issues or solutions would be great! I am love to wrench on my own junk and am also an avid rock crawler (Jeeps mainly) and working on a CJ5/7 rock buggy...

Thanks!

1. Does this happen only when you start the car for the first time for the day? I experience the same problem.

3. At 203K miles the rear suspension link bushings could be worn out. For the steering jack up the front one side at a time and shake the wheel at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Play = worn idler arm bushings. Shake at 12 and 6, play = ball joint.

7. If the vent never turns off, the vacuum actuator might be leaking, or the switchover valve is defective.

I purchase parts from The Parts Bin, because they are in NJ, and I get next-day delivery. Lots of people use MercedesShop. They're all good.

Good luck!
