94' s124 crank no start / no spark
upper harness date code 93'
Battery good
Motor and trans are fine
OVP is new
I am questioning the ECU in the situation given the previous experiences I've had with the car.
The previous owner replaced tumbler and ignition switch and car still wouldn't start for him. He also has been driving it with a bad NSS so it only starts in N.
So when I towed the car home, I bypassed the alarm by jumping the relay behind the cluster and I replaced the blown fuses with ceramic and the 15amp on the OVP because it was blown. I also replaced a fuse on one of the relays behind the ceramic fuses. I then got the car to crank. But no spark.
Once this happened, I believed that the ovp was bad so I tried a new one I had on hand from a friend from w201 which got the car to run but I could only shut the motor off by disconnecting the relay itself which was very weird. I figured a new correct ovp would have my car on the road! So I ordered a new one and plugged it in and now my car is back to a crank no start.
Jumping back to the incorrect OVP that made it run. Out of the 5/6 times I tried to use that OVP, the aux fans came on at full speed about 3/6 times. The only way to shut them off was to disconnect the battery and try again. I am thinking that maybe my ecu suffered some damage from the old OVP blowing its fuse.
Not sure what to do at this point and dont want to spend too much money on the car but if anyone has any experience with this kind of issue I'd greatly appreciate any feedback! Cheers
