dash lights all on NEED HELP!!!!!!
The other night I was driving and all my dash lights came on. As I accelerated all the lights would go dim or off but the battery lamp stayed lit(dim). Between that night and today sometimes the battery lamp would light(dim) or not light at all. After work the car was hard to start and the ABS light stayed on and the car stalled as I was pulling in the garage. NEED HELP!!!!

Given the battery light being on, I'd say the alternator is failing, and unable to charge the battery. Also when you accelerate, the lamps dim because the alternator is able to provide more current to the electrical system, removing faults which make the warning lights illuminate. Replace the brushes first, and if that doesn't work, replace the alternator with a rebuilt unit.

120,000 miles and I had a replacement alternator installed about 2 years ago. Another problem that I have been having for about 3 years now is that there is no door chime or light when I open the driver door. I have checked the door switch for functionality and swapped it with the passenger side. There is one under the hood (same side as fuse box) that is not working but I am not sure what light should come on. Plus sometimes when I use the intermittent washers they do not come on. Then I turn on the turn signal and turn the wheel and they work. Or sometimes they work as soon as I put them on. The continuous wiper works just fine.

I know with my 190e my cruise control didn't work, because of a wrong light bulb in the tail light. I replaced the bulb with a Mercedes bulb and the cruise control worked. I thought that was weird, but that ishow the car is wired. I wish I had some advice for you regarding your problem.

Alternator
Hey, I think its the alternator too. All my lights went on, took it to the dealer, diagnosed as a failing alternator.
