Question Excessive steering play..

Mine seems soft and I can move the wheel a couple of inches. What should I do to check and tighten the steering? Are later steering boxes the same ratio or are there options? I have 16" wheels but lower profile should match the 15" wheel diameter.

is your steering damper strut[?] shock leaking? if so it's toasted

mine was done at 130k, replaced and it made a difference. not too expensive.

at 165k added sportline swaybar...finally the 124.030 handles

just a thought

ebennz,
Ok, I'll check it. How much did you pay for them and are they DIY installable?

I just had mine replaced. Can't be too hard because my mechanic did it no charge! Mine came with car since the previous owner had bought it and then decided to sell the car. They're not that expensive. Check out some of the on-line parts suppliers.
