Did side moldings came on ALL 90's?

Did side moldings came on ALL 90's?
There is one advertised and the picture seems to show the rubber strips as equipped on 86-89 300Es. I am wondering if this owner is mistaken or there was a mid-year change. I want to be prepared before seeing the car.

I think I can answer your question.....
The 1988 300 CE was the first 300 Class (as it was called back then) to have the door moldings. This was the first year of this model. The 300 Class sedans did not get the make over with the body colored side mouldings until 1990.

(I read in the paper that a guy named Gregorius Sachinides bought a 200D that is now 28 years old. He bought it in Germany with 500,000 Km and used it as a taxi in Greece until he put on 4.6 million Km (2.9 million miles), then donated it to the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart-wow!)
