1992 300E
300E No Power
Started my 1992 300E after 3 months in storage. Idled fine. Tried to drive and engine died. Restarted, idle ok, died in gear. I was able to backup slowly but died when shifted to drive. I suspect fuel pump or low fuel pressure. Any thoughts

Engine started after 3 months in storage. I just backed it out of the garage and let it idle for awhile and shut it of. Later I went drive and could not accelerate or go up a small incline. Got back home and parked. Next day it ran fine. Ordered new pumps and filter just for peace of mind.

I would call that warm/hot engine stalls/hesitation. It does sound like fuel delivery issue due to weak pumps. If you know pump history you can decipher easier. Or a fuel pressure gauge.
Pump life averages 90K-100K miles. My second one is getting weaker at 205K miles. Generally, you will get hesitation out of nowhere an sometimes stalls. And when it gets bad enough you can't even start the car. Fuel sitting is certainly not good for the pumps either.
