Trip computer on cab
So i've been long considering adding a trip computer to my 1993 300CE24 cab. I've searched high and low but never found any cabs fitted with this option so i had to improvise.
I was first thinking of replacing and moving the convertible switch up next to rollbar switch and cleanly cutting the wood shifter trim to accomodate trip controls. Next i thought that since some cabs came with the webasto engine heater (controls between seat heater switches) i can put the trip computer controls there. However, the hole for heater controls is bigger than that of the trip controls.
after 2 months of research i came upon very old photos from a german forum that have the trip controls between seat heater switches.
So my question is: are these retrofitted by users or in fact cabs did come with trip computers as per photos?
I'm not sure if this will help but: I have a 1993 300CE Cab. The 300CE was produced after the 300CE24 in 1993. Mine was produced for the Canadian market and as you can see, does not have a trip computer. In fact, other climate controls are also different.
mine is an early 1993 model so it camw with the 3.0 variant. Later 1993 model got the 3.2 with efi.i have this type of climate control ony 560sec. According to several technicians, it's very prone to problems.
