Question AMG body kit question

Hello to everyone,

I'm new here and this is my first post. This site is wonderfull!!!

I think this is going to be a somewhat silly question, that you must have answered many times, but here it goes:

1. Where can I buy an AMG (original, not fiberglass) body kit for my sedan?

2. Are there any other kits that are not made from fiberglass?

3. Does anyone has installed the Essilmann (I think it's written like that) header and rear muffler?, if so, what are the gains (HP) and does it sound loud? (I saw this at the Bekker web site).

Is there a sticky with all the basic question for this model?

Thank's in advance for any info that I receive.

BTW: My car is a 1989 300E (W124) Gold Sedan.

Hi and welcome to the site
1.Unfortunatly the AMG body kits for the w124 class has been discountined by Mercedes Benz meaning u cant buy them from the dealers...however u might get lucky and find a original body kit on ebay.
2. You can look for a original Wald body kit for the w124 (IMO the wald body kit is the most beautiful) again the wald body kit in polyurathane is very rare and pretty hard to find and could be expensive...if u must have it u can find a replica made from fiberclass for roughly...800-1000 USD.
3. Havnt heard of that brand but one common really good muffler people like for the W124 is the Remux exhaust...im not sure about HP gains but the sound is really nice a very deeep throaty sound.

Post some pics u get a chance too

Thumbs up

Hello & thanks to everyone for the fast replies!!!!!

Where can I find the Wald body kit ( it is very nice ), I would prefer the original Wald kit since it's not fiberglass, I previusly had a 300ZX TT once and it had installed a Bomex body kit in Fiber Glass and it was a headache!!!!

You were correct it's written eissenman, found it at www.bekker.com for $455.00 (not bad), there's a Remus dealer here in PR but he asked me $700.00 for the rear section (bolt on), I think I'll go with the Eissenman.

Thanks again for your help.

Next week I'll tackle the audio system so expect more questions from me

Enzo, my Benzo
Well, I am not sure how long ago the AMG stuff from the dealer was discontinued because I bought my bumper and AMG wing from my dealer in February of 03 so you may still be able to get it....just call the parts dept.

As for Wald, it is my understanding that they are fibreglass, NOT Poly. They quote "high quality fibreglass" (LOL) but still.....it's your call.

Try AMG direct in Germany....

As for headers and exhaust, you won't get any noticeable gains from either or both, so I'd not waste the cash on headers, just get the exhaust from either einsemann or Remus. I have the Remus one and it's not too loud just a nice grumble to it....Cannot say how loud the Einsemann one is..sorry

Good luck, I hope that helps...

Here's A Bumper Piece

Shipping might be expensive, since it's oversized it can't be "mailed" so it'll have to be freight.

Yeah it is, This thread is pretty old. Was there a real reason to bump it? Also, do you have anymore information or pictures on the Wald exhaust?

body kits - alternative to the AMG kit

hi there there is a kit that is a nice alternative to the AMG kit, i used it in my current restoration project. kit is full skirts all round half door down, exhaust is hidden (no show) has slight flares for the arches and sits perfectly over the saloon body. I had the srpings and shicks replaced and have put in smaller front tyres than the back. what else oh yeah its on a private display plate now - srorry that not in the photo - will have to get new photos- Al ZORO - (al zoro) it has a 2 inch clerance at the fron t end and raised Drag back to it - the kit is a nice alterantive to the AMG kit which is very very hard to find.. there a photo in here somewhere..whgat else.. had the allots redone - they are now very very bright - the wheels and the kit are the key to the exterior look

Been resotring this for a year now - mileage 88k, wheels are 18 inch amg alloys - suspension is done has incredible road handling, tes throughout. alarm system is cat 1 with voice reaction - basically it shouts at you in an american accent - STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE . etc etc its a voice customised alarm system stops everything. Stereo system - but needs more bass power so will rp9obably upgrade again as had a 500 watt per channel in my last model and still want the same, it has a temeprature warning system for climate too, red ice warning indicator - handing when your pushing those speed limits in bad conditions - what else - well body work through out done

if i dont sell it this year then next steps are...

last things needed are the v6 amg engine to go in
urgrade - bass box needed for boot

also need a jack access bung for the kit - has any one got one - you can see its needed on the drivers side in front of the rear wheel (small back square in the photo)

i will keep it white as its very very striking in white
