Chuck Steak

The transmission in my 1988 W124 300D is noisy. It's not really bad, but is noisier than it should be and I want to fix it. I'm told by transmission places here in Perth Western Australia that parts for this are no longer available.
So I have two questions. Does anyone know where I can get a good 2nd hand one? Or does anyone know where I can get parts for it?

I assume yours is an auto transmission. If I was in your shoes, I would see if converting to manual transmission is an option down under. The life of that would be limitless, more fun to drive and a better fit for a diesel. Also very serviceable by DIY means. Just rebuilt the original clutch/transmission of my W201 last year after 35 years on the road and all city driven 210K miles.

My '95 W124 long gone after a transmission failure at 145K miles. It was a family owned original as well.
