Squeaky car!

I have a squeaky 1988 Mercedes. It just keeps getting louder. It is not the springs and It is NOT the shocks. What is it and how does it cost to fix???

Thanks in advance

Gaidi

check the bushings on the front end. Those are the usual culprit for "squeaky" sounds when driving. Does the car squeak when it's parked if you press down hard on the fornt bumper?

The lower ball joints make the squeaky noise too and if they fail while your driving its bad news. Please inspect the lower ball joints especially if you have over 100k miles.

Bushings should not be that expensive to replace. Parts are pretty cheap, labor will be the bulk of the repair, I would guess that $500 max would cover the front end. Ball joints are a more serious problem. If they need to be replaced it could be more $.
