1996 drivetrain into 1995

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to swap the engine and transmission from a 1996 e320 into a 1995 e320? I recently found a low mile 96 that was t-boned and I am curious given that it has he same engine and possibly the same transmission how much drama it would be to swap it into a 95 s124.

Well, you raised a resonable point about the diagnostic system each uses. The 95 is OBD1 and the 96 is OBD2 which I hadn't considered and would presumably require a significant amount of wiring work to get either system to play nice with the other. Ergo it would probably be better and long run cheaper to just but a same year car. Hence why I said not economically. But thank you for the your response.
