delay between 2nd-3rd shift

I drive a 95 e320SE.

Just today, i noticed that between the shifts from 2nd to 3rd, it took longer than normal to engage 3rd gear. My revs jumped a little between the shift.

any help?

There may be a valve body that controls the tranny shifts that is sticking/failing (common on 500Es)...try looking at that first. Just a thought.

If the engine is cold the transmission will shift at a higer rpm than normal to allow the engine to get to operating temp. faster. Once warm the transmission should shift normally.

Shift "flare'

I'm not sure if this is the same problem the w124 has...but it is an easy fix. There is a kit that includes some springs and instruction to increase one of the holes in the value body. I think the kit is avaialble from MB but you may need to insist it exists...'cause it does. I got mine from a shop in Miami but can't find the name. Anyway, it will stop the "flare" between 2nd and 3rd. If your not confident enough to pull the valve body any good tranny shop can do it for you...takes, maybe 2 hrs to complete.
