how much tranny fluid on 93 e300 2.8?

the car manual says 7.7l for a initial fill. (I changed the gasket and filter) so I filled it up to 6 with mobil one and it seems like its overflowing?

Also it doesn't seem to be overflowing from the fill tube. is there another place tranny fluid overflows?

Did you drain the torque converter? that is where the bulk of the fluid is. There is an allen socket drain in the torque converter. There is a little window in the bell housing of the transmission for you to acces it. You have to bump the engine a couple of times to get the drain to line up in that window to unscrew it.

thanks. at this point I'm just gonna top the fluids off, since the engines not running.

Is there an overflow opening on the transmission?
