adding rocker switch question

i'm thinking of adding a rocker switch or two in the blank spaces next to the hazard, rear demist, and rear light switches,on the highest point of the center console. My question is,does one have to cut out the spaces for the switches in the wood panel,or do you buy a new panel from mercedes, and if so,do you have a choice as to how many holes you can have?i may want to complete the line if i think up enough accessories.

i think the wagons and the coups had extra switches there. for traction control and auto leveling rear end.
