For instance, on the fiberglass kits I have seen that were replicas, bumper supports had to be removed and lots of filling and priming and adding of material to make them look and fit right were needed.

I know this because thats what I had to do with my front and rear bumpers.

But love how it looks so I don;t mind.

Well ashman, it's not 100% Fiber glass its actually made with a mixed of plastic fiber in it so that it will make it much better. The price of $1600 is OBO if anyone has a good counter bid i will acccept. Remember that it may not need that much of a work ashman, since the kit itself close to perfect

My bodyshop guy used to install all the kits for many aftermarket tuners in Los Angeles, including kits from carlsson, lorinser, brabus etc, as well as bmw kits dinan, hartge, etc, and he told me that he stopped doing it because all of them, needed work here and there and lots of extra time to get them to fit perfect. none of them fit right out of the box with just some paint and popping it on.

Every car is slightly different even when rolling off the factory floor, not everything is lined up the same on each and every vehicle.

Even factory AMG kits for c36 etc aren;t simple bolt ons, they require a little bit of work to make them latch in properly and fit right.

My only point being that nothing is made perfect to fit, they will all require something here or there to make them fit right.

I have broken my kit off my car 2 times, and I have learned through trial and error, that fiberglassing is not hard, but also it is easy to offset things. the first time I did it, I put the mounts slightly off, and had to live with some gaps that I did not like. the second time, I fixed it better but still not perfect.

Now I have to pull my bumper yet again, and reglass half of the mounts because they are all coming loose again.

Regardless of it being fiberglass and plastic blend, or just fiberglass, the problem is that it is still delicate, and mounts can get broken easily if you are not careful.

I am just waiting on fixing mine yet again, because I have some custom mods I plan on doing to the kit to make it just a little bit different yet again.
