your sister.
Few hours? >20minutes. I have a set of HIDS sitting here, not installed in my current car, waiting for a week to install them in the 2.3-16v. The installation takes 20minutes at most.

Just got my headlights from DHL right now. I'll keep you guys updated.
Hmm...they gave me the 93 and up style headlights where the inner part curves to support the newer model hood. I guess that's okay right? I mean...it shouldn't look bad or anything. What do you guys think?

those wont be water proof. if you have to drill a hole in the water tight housing you know there has to be a possibility of water penatration. i went with STOCK mbz hids. they mount under the housing and then u run the hid wire thru the side where the back cover meets the front. i also used the stock wiring in my harness. i mounted the balast to the underside of the housing then drilled a 1/4 hole and then siliconed it and then mounted the balast over that hole.
if you want pics i can provide just the ones of the side since the balast is well hiden.

i believe chris asked me what lights look like without a diffuser. take a look at that pic. notice the glaring lite at the top of the lens...VERY BAD!!!!!! it will get you a ticket and lots of people pissed off at you when ur driving at nite.
a diffuser blocks the bottom part of the reflector in the lens. after all the bottom part is what reflects up thereby giving u the HIGH beam. i never knew that til i was schooled by my mbz tech. so if u dont block the bottom of the lens it will appears as the brights are on. which is bad news.

ok i stayed up late and whiped out hte digi camera again.
this shot was hard as heck to get. it shows the bottom of the lens not reflecting due to the diffuser that was put in when i had my lights done. (btw it was a redbull can painted black and cut just right...yup that is my diffuser) this is with 0 flash at an angle to demonstrate the diffuser
the instide cover of my euro lens...btw same as 94+ notice NO BIG *** HOLES in the back.
i removed the cover to show u the stock lamp holder we used. we did customize a stock mbz bulb. it needed a peice around the light that prevents the bulb from going too far into the housing. i didnt want to pull it out for a photo because those b$%stards are hot when lit up.
this is the same as above without the flash. notice the wires go DOWN and are not on the side. this keeps water from getting on anything other then the floor of the lens housing.
its critical u never get that bulb, ignitor, wiring or balast wet. they fry instantly and you get to pay to replace it all when it rains. btw i had these put in 2 months ago and with all the rain we have had i have had 0 problems. i had it setup differently in dec with a different balast in a different place and it was nothing but nightmares and replacing of parts after they got just a little h20 on them.

dude eric. you rock! Thanks for taking time out of your life and taking some pictures for me. It definately gave me a better idea. You can't even see the Balast, wiring and what not. Looks clean inside your headlight housing. Right now mine looks really messy. I should clean it up. I'll talk to you for sure about the HID's when I get more money. haha

I got the headlight trim panels direct from MB. House of Imports. I don't remember what I paid for them though, i got them awhile ago. All I know is that you shouldn't pay more than 20-30 bucks. I also got it at wholesale price.
Anyways, incase you wanted to get the inserts, here are the Part #'s.

unless you plan on upgrading your hood, I would tell the company they sent the wrong ones and have them send the new ones out with a return shippinglabel, but thats just me...
Should still look fine witht he 94-95 lights. just gives you an excuse to change the hood for the newer hood.

Yeah Ashman,
I could contact the company, but they are in Germany and I don't want to have to deal with 4-6 weeks delievery again and what not.
I guess this is a good thing, because now I can get a new hood in the future.

lol. I was at the Meguiar's detail day today eric and was chilling in Irvine and Lakeforest.
but...ask your friend how much he's willing to let go of that hood. Or...for free since it needs a good home anyways.
